Aboard the Mrs. Morgan [a month after last time]

Game night had gone without a hitch (well, other than the argument Ben had in his halting French with a colonist trying to skip Park Place in Monopoly) and he and Ender were now heading back to their room after a brief stop for ice cream and drinks in the mess.

"That was fun," he said, bumping his shoulder into Ender's. "Movie night next?"

Ben leaned his forehead into Ender's and concentrated on breathing for a second. "I am deeply and permanently in love with you, Andrew," he murmured, "so tell that doubting little voice of yours to shove off for a minute or two."

"I don't deserve you," Ender said softly. "I really don't."

"Of course you do," Ben replied, running his thumb along Ender's cheekbone. "Better, even."

Ender snorted softly, but he didn't comment.

"No snorting," Ben said, kissing him.

Ender shook his head and kissed him back. Repeatedly.

It seemed a rather more agreeable course of action than get into an argument with Ben about this.

Ben wrapped his arms around Ender and held on tightly.

Ender sighed. "Cheater," he said, snuggling into Ben's grip.

"It's not cheating when it works," Ben decided.

"Oh, usually if it works, you're cheating," Ender said fondly, pulling on the blankets.

"See what you make me do?" Ben replied just as fondly.

"Oh, now I'm to blame for your questionable methods?" Ender asked, dropping the blanket once it was up to their shoulders.

Ben nudged his nose against Ender's. "Maybe."

Never.

"Brat," Ender said, kissing him softly. "We should sleep before I try to jump you again."

"I like when you jump me," Ben said, kissing him back, "but I love you can relax around me enough to sleep."

"You and Valentine and nobody else," Ender admitted. "I slept a great deal less back when I was rooming with Ichigo."

Ben kissed him again. "Know the feeling."

"I barely even remember who you used to room with," Ender admitted.

"Wendy Watson," Ben said. "So a stranger and a girl. I was one neurotic freshman."

Ender winced a little in sympathy.

"Having the school move us in together wasn't a terrible thing, was it."

"Not at all," Ben said, "though I felt really guilty the first time I woke you up with a nightmare."

"Because you're a fool," Ender said fondly.

Ben kissed him soundly. "Maybe."

"It feels strange," Ender admitted. "Thinking about Fandom before we were roommates."

"We spent a lot more time on the roof together then," Ben said with a smile.
