Ben was still smiling as they walked away from the Portalocity terminal, his hand in Ender's. "That was a nice visit," he said. "Dad's really, really excited about becoming a grandfather, huh? I think the Ewok-themed nursery might be a bit much, though."

"You earned it," Ender said softly, "And you keep on earning it without realizing it."

Ben let out a low sigh. "I love you so much."

"I'm starting to figure that out," Ender teased, kissing his jaw.

"Well, you are pretty slow," Ben teased back.

"Well, what's..."

Ender thought back, and his eyes widened.

"Kuso. Ten years this year, or thereabouts."

Ben grinned him, his entire body radiating happiness. "No regrets?"

"None at all," Ender said, smiling at him. "But that's a long time."

"Close to half of our lives," Ben said, kissing him. "Good. This half is much better than the first one."

"Very much," Ender said. He kissed Ben back, then murmured, "But I'm looking forward to this being three-fourths of our lives. Or more."

"Me too," Ben whispered. "It's already weird to think of things you weren't there for. Seems like you always should have been."

Ender smiled a little. "Sorry I couldn't make it earlier."

Ben kissed him again. "I love you."
