Ben, Ender & Val's hotel room [Sunday afternoon]

Ben stared at his daughter, sitting inside the suitcase he was trying to pack.

"Ice cream," she told him, narrowing her eyes.

"Packing first," Ben replied, crossing his arms.

"ICE CREAM!"

"Ow," Ben said, holding his hands over his ears.

Ender smiled at him. "We could put off ice cream until she's awake again," he said softly. "Our portal doesn't leave until tonight."

"She was really looking forward to it," Ben mused.

"I think she'll hate us forever if we don't wait," Ender said, "Or at least until her next nap."

Ben laughed. "True enough. "Now what should we do instead?"

"All the packing is done and the girlchild is asleep," Ender said, running his hands over Ben's arms. "Maybe we can get some of that illegal-by-Val's-law kissing in."

"You have the best ideas," Ben said, straddling Ender's legs and kissing with intent.

Ender smiled into the kiss, sliding his arms around Ben's neck as he kissed back firmly.

"Hello, kreetle," Ben said, making himself more comfortable. "Missed you."

"I've been right here," Ender said fondly, leaning back onto the bed.

"In a decidedly PG way," Ben said, nipping at the underside of Ender's jaw.

Ender laughed softly. "If you've got something you need to get off your chest," he said, "I'm willing to bump this up to PG-13."

He slid his hands through Ben's hair, then down over his back.

"Sweet-talker," Ben teased, grinning at him. "So that's shirtless, then?"

"I think it means you're allowed one expletive," Ender teased, as he slid his hands under Ben's shirt.

Ben's eyes sparkled at him. "I'll save it until the end, then," he promised.

Ender nudged his shirt up over his head. "Good choice," he said. "No need to be excessive until it's necessary."

"That's me," Ben agreed, dropping his shirt to the ground. "The soul of discretion."

"Such a nice boy," Ender teased, kissing him again.

"Until I'm not at all," Ben agreed, rolling his hips. He grinned. "Bet that wasn't PG-13, huh?"

Ender let out a soft whimper. "No, that would be R," he said, wrapping one leg around Ben's for better leverage.

Ben leaned in and nipped at Ender's earlobe. "And that's okay?"

"You can bump this all the way up into the adult ratings for all I care," Ender said softly. He ran his fingers over the faded scars on Ben's back.

"Oooh, yes please," Ben said, smiling softly. "I want to be nice and tired for our trip."

Ender smiled back at him. "I think we can make that work," he said. And teased: "You might even get hungry enough to finish your ice cream."

He let go of Ben's back so he could work his way out of his own shirt.

"Ooh, it's good to have a goal," Ben said, moving away to he could help Ender with his pants, too. He was helpful that way.

Ender let him strip them off, looking amused the whole while as he wriggled out of his pants. "Your turn," he said, reaching for Ben's fly.
