Ben's shuttle [evening]

Ben, who after two years on the island was used to the waves of emotion that happened towards the end of term, had been planning on taking a quick break to clear his head anyway, but the unmistakable feeling of death had hit him twice in two days had added exponentially to his need to go now.

And so, after leaving a slightly garbled message for Tahiri, he'd bolted for the shuttle without a thought in his head other than fleeing the pain for a little bit.

It was weeks like this when it sucked to be an empath.

"At least now we don't have to worry about sunburn?" Ben mumbled as he prayed for his fingers to work more effectively on her flight suit.

"No, but . . ." Tahiri's fingers were usually more coordinated than this, too, but she was trying to get those pants out of the way. "It's still awfully warm in here."

That had nothing to do with any solar bodies, Tahiri.

"I can fix the climate controls," he babbled as he shimmied out of his pants.

"No, no, stay here," Tahiri blurted out, and why was her left foot still tangled up in the cuff of her flight suit? "It's, um. It's kind of nice."

And now Ben was going to kind of stare for a bit because this was a lot of Tahiri to see in a not-recently-unkittified state. "Wow."

And that was a lot more of Ben than she normally saw, too, so Tahiri was going to be staring right back, thank you.

"Uh huh," she agreed breathlessly. She wasn't shivering because it was cold.

Who knew he could blush that much?

Well, now Tahiri knew, obviously.

"Hi."

Don't talk, Ben.

"Hi, yourself," replied Tahiri, who really shouldn't be talking either.

. . . since she wasn't exactly talking to Ben's face.

It took him a second to realize that, but when he did, he blushed even harder. "Want me to turn the lights off or something?"

[weetuskenraider]

"But I wouldn't be able to see," Tahiri blurted out.

Yes. Because being able to see was the top priority at the moment.

"And . . . I like looking at you."

[momslilassassin]

"Oh," he said eloquently. It hadn't occurred to him that she might want to do that. "I like looking at you too. A lot."

[weetuskenraider]

"So don't turn off the lights then, dummy," Tahiri replied, finally getting her leg free of the stupid flight suit and moving toward him. "Problem solved."

[momslilassassin]

"Oh yeah," he said. "Sorry. I'm a little nervous."

No kidding.

[weetuskenraider]

"You don't say," Tahiri said with a nervous giggle of her own. "You're, um. Blushing. All over."

[momslilassassin]

Which, naturally, made him blush harder. "Yeah," he said, leaning forward to kiss her belly button.

"It's --" Tahiri stopped to catch her breath, which was harder than it seemed when just that little gesture made her shiver. "It's cute," she murmured, running her fingers through his hair.

[momslilassassin]

He nipped at the skin just below her belly button. "Cute?"

[weetuskenraider]

"Very," Tahiri insisted -- or squeaked, more like.

[momslilassassin]

His hands trailed along her inner thigh. "I'd been hoping for handsome," he said, hoping she could hear his words over his pounding heart.

The squeaking gave way to definite whimpering, and Tahiri squirming up against him. "That too," she managed; the explanation that it had too many syllables for her to handle right now was a bit beyond her.

"Good," he said, moving one hand even higher.

This okay?

Did Tahiri pressing into his hand mean yes?

Just in case . . .

Oh, you bet it is.

[momslilassassin]

He snuggled a little closer, nipping at her earlobe as his hand began to move in a slow rhythm.

Good.

Because he was going entirely by instinct here.

[weetuskenraider]

Instinct was what had Tahiri turning her head in an unspoken suggestion that she wouldn't mind him nipping at the side of her neck, either.

. . . she thought he had rather good instincts, really.

Uh huh. You are.

He chuckled before nipping at her neck, shifting a little closer (not that there was much space on the bunk to begin with).
