Ben didn't have classes on Wednesdays, so he normally went out on a nice long run before climbing the Rocky Bits (yes, for fun, and yes, without safety equipment), so it wasn't entirely unheard of for him to come home with a few scratches on his arms or legs.

Today, though, he was limping heavily and cursing under his breath about big sharp teeth and stupid kriffing bunnies.

He was a Skywalker. Of course something had tried to eat him.

"And when we're talking about spending years together, what's six months, really?" Ben replied.

"Half of a year," Ender said. "And not much at all." He smiled, touching Ben's cheek. "We'll contemplate caring when we hit the one year mark," he said. "Maybe someone on the ship will have a bigger bunny."

Ben grinned at him. "I promise not to get bit by it."

He nuzzled Ender's neck. "I love you an indecent amount, you know."

"You keep stealing my words," Ender said, entirely unoffended.

He slid his hands back down to Ben's behind.

Ben sighed softly and snuggled in closer. "Done with work for the moment?"

"I've put out all the fires," Ender said quietly. "I've got some time to comfort the recently injured."

"I'm hardly an invalid," Ben said with a smile, hugging Ender a bit and enjoying the closeness.

"Shush," Ender said, tucking his face into Ben's neck and wrapping his arms around Ben's waist. "You were gravely injured."

"Hey," Ben said softly, hugging Ender a little tighter, "if you're getting morose on me, stop it."

Ender laughed softly into his neck. "Maybe I'm just scared you're bleeding to death," he said, dropping a kiss on Ben's skin.

"From a bunny bite," Ben said, snorting. "That would be the stupidest way to die ever.

He leaned in to kiss Ender, adding more sincerely, "I'm not going anywhere, kreetle."

"I know," Ender said, "It was a pain getting you on the passenger list. If you decided to leave, you'd owe me a few forms first."

He kissed Ben again in return, enjoying the weight of him where it was. Not extending the 'you can still leave if you want' offer for once; it would just kill the mood, and it wasn't his intention to make Ben feel unwanted.

"Not the paperwork," Ben fake-whined, scraping his fingers along Ender's spine. "Guess I'll have to stay."

Ender kissed him one more time, then slid his hands down to grip Ben's legs.

Ben was a little heavy, but Ender hadn't cut back too much on his strength training over the years. If he just got up like this and lifted like that... well, he was sure he'd be able to take them to the bed, at least.

Ben laughed against Ender's neck as he was moved. "Show off," he teased.

"You eat too much ice cream," Ender told him, successfully navigating the two steps to the bed and dropping Ben (semi-carefully) onto it.

"I do not," Ben retorted, grabbing a handful of Ender's shirt to pull him in for a kiss.

Because that would show him...something.

Well, that thwarted Ender's attempt to unbutton the last two buttons of his shirt. Instead, his hands dropped to the mattress on either side of Ben as he searched for support as he kissed Ben back.

Ben wrapped his fingers through Ender's hair with a happy sigh. "Could do this all day."

"I've noticed you trying," Ender teased. Now that he had a moment, he was reaching back down to take care of those buttons.

"Exercise and spending time with my favorite person," Ben said. "I see no downside here."

"You're not eating at the same time," Ender said. His voice was teasing.

He stripped off the shirt and tossed it at the floor.

Ben took his time ogling Ender instead of being bratty in reply.

He finally reached out to trail his fingers along Ender's bicep. "Not bad, Wiggin."

"Not everyone can have tree trunks like yours," Ender said, "But I do my part."

Of completely not vanity-oriented workouts.

Though, predictably, he was going to linger here for a moment and enjoy the attention.

Which was why Ben made sure to appreciate the view every time. He leaned out to kiss Ender's bicep.

"I appreciate the work," he teased.
