Shakespeare Colony [A month later]

They'd waited for the weather to turn more reliably warm and dry before hosting an outdoor dance in the center of the village. The fight over music had been mostly smoothed over by agreeing to vary the selections between what the colonists who'd arrived recently liked and what the natives had become used to after Ben had offered to provide enough droid spoken word albums to last the entire dance to break the impasse.

Because everyone had agreed that droid spoken word albums were the worst.

And now, in the fine tradition of dances everywhere, no one was dancing in the area cleared for that purpose as everyone gathered in nervous groupings around food and drink tables, staring at people across the floor and hoping someone would ask them to dance.

Ben sighed and tugged at the tie around his neck. "Should we draw names from a hat or something?" he asked Ender.

"Kuso," Ender breathed softly.

He finally chanced falling over because he couldn't not reach out and touch the back of Ben's head.

Ben hummed in approval and slid his mouth over Ender.

Damn, but that felt good right now. Ender released a downright needy whimper and clenched his fingers in Ben's hair.

Ben swallowed hard and increased his tempo--he wasn't interested in teasing this out for Ender, just in making him very, very happy.

The teasing could come when they finally got themselves to their room.

Ender mumbled a few expletives under his breath. Stared down at Ben's face and ran his hand haphazardly through Ben's hair.

He wouldn't last long at this rate, that was for sure.

Ben slowed down a little bit as his free hand reached um to trace along the scar on Ender's ribs.

For some reason Ender couldn't quantify, that made him moan very loudly.

Ben kept his hand moving in time with his mouth.

It really didn't take much more than that, as it turned out - Ender had been wound up for quite a while now. He shut his eyes and let go with a whimper.

Ben stayed where he was for a minute, swallowing, then sat up and wiped his mouth with his hand, a slightly smug smile on his face. "Bed?" he suggested.

"Bed," Ender agreed, sitting forward and panting.

Ben stood up on slightly wobbly knees and reached a hand out to help Ender off the floor.

Ender followed with equally (or even moreso) unsteady gait, through the hallway and into their bedroom. "That was nice," he murmured.

Ben gave him a playful shove onto the bed. "That was pretty kriffing close to mind blowing," he corrected, kissing him again.

Ender flopped back onto that bed happily. "Mmm, I guess it was," he said, tangling his fingers in Ben's hair and kissed him back thoroughly.

Ben was more than happy being kissed like that, draping his arms around Ender's neck and pulling him closer.

Ender smiled, running his free hand leisurely up and down Ben's side.

"I love you a ridiculous amount," Ben murmured.

"Same to you," Ender said softly, earnestly even.

His fingers rubbed gentle circles on Ben's hip.

Ben rested his forehead against Ender's and breathed in. "And I love this little piece of calm we've carved out for ourselves."

"It's not bad, is it?" Ender asked, cupping Ben's cheek. "I'm so glad you're here with me."

"I'm glad I'm here too," Ben said softly, then grinned a little wickedly. "And not just because of that thing you did there with your tongue."

Ender smirked a tiny bit. "You liked that."

Ben kissed the smirk. "I liked that," he confirmed.

"Good to know," Ender murmured. "And I do love that mouth of yours..."
