Ben leaned against the balcony of their suite in the Fountain Palace and sighed softly. Hapes really was ridiculously beautiful, and while he preferred Naboo because of the lack of constant political posturing, he did enjoy getting to show Ender and Val off to Tenel Ka, who flatly refused to believe he was old enough to have a baby of his own when she could still remember changing his bottom.

The laughter from her guards at that had almost made the embarrassment worth it. "I think it's time for dinner soon," Ben called into Ender. "It's hard to gage here by the sun because it never gets fully dark."

"I don't care if it is," Ben said, resting his forehead against Ender's.

Ender tilted his head down and kissed Ben firmly, pouring all of his affection into it.

Ben let out a low moan and slid his arms up around Ender's shoulders, pulling him closer.

Ender's hands slid down Ben's sides. He pressed small kisses to Ben's bottom lip, then trailed them along Ben's cheek.

Ben smiled and closed his eyes. "I'm so glad you're in my life," he murmured.

"I'm staying in it for as long as you want to stay in mine," Ender said, his lips brushing against Ben's ear.

"As long as I can swing it," Ben said, shivering. "You get my entire life."

Ender put his chin down on Ben's shoulder. "As long as you're happy."

"Ridiculously so," Ben said, kissing his cheek.

Ender smiled softly.

"Never mind what I said earlier," he said, "I feel a third wind coming on."

A very gentle kind of third wind.

"Back to bed, then?" Ben suggested.

Ender kissed his cheek. "Yes, please," he said.

Ben hauled himself back out of the tub and toddled back into the bedroom, still a little wet because finding a towel was too much work.

Ender shook his head, snagging two towels off the rack as he went after him, tossing one at the bed.

"Okay, okay," Ben said, snagging the towel and drying himself off.

"You complain now," Ender said, drying himself, too, "But you'll be happy when you don't have to sleep in a wet spot tonight."

Ben snickered. Because he was secretly 12.

Ender shook his head. He dropped his towel to the floor and came up behind Ben, sliding his arms around Ben's waist. "Teenager," he teased, pressing a kiss to his shoulder.

"Only sometimes," Ben said, laughing.

"I love you," Ender said fondly, one hand sliding down between Ben's legs while he kissed Ben's neck and shoulder some more.

Ben let out a low sigh. "I love you too. Not just because of where your hand is."

Ender laughed softly. "We have a daughter asleep in the next room," he said, "I'd hope not."

Ben turned his head to kiss him. "Well, it's maybe 80 percent because of where your hand is," he teased.

"So you like that," Ender surmised, teasing. He moved his hand up and down gently, kissing Ben with soft intent.

Ben sighed and kissed him back. "I like you."
