His headache had finally cleared up, so Ben was trying to catch up on his robotics work this evening.

Well, that was his story, anyway. It wasn't like he slept more than a few hours a night. The door was closed, though, so the sound didn't carry down the hall.

Tahiri might never hear his name without feeling a slight wistful pang, but -- somewhere along the line it had stopped hurting quite so much. That drew an odd smile, and she curled a little closer against Ben. "I just wish you could've known him."

"Me too," Ben said. He wouldn't wish for his cousin to arrive here at all, and was never going to bring up the droid on Centerpoint Station.

"But," Tahiri said after a moment of chewing her lower lip, "there's no point in dwelling on the past, is there?" She sounded a little regretful when she said it, but managed a smile anyway.

Ben kissed the top of her head. "Not really," he agreed.

"I like being with you," she said shyly. "I wouldn't change that."

"That is very nice to hear," he said with a little blush.

[weetuskenraider]

Tahiri decided it would be fun to see what happened if she leaned in and whispered in his ear. "I like being your Tahiri."

Ben blushed harder and pulled her a lighter closer as his Force-sense filled with decidedly warm feelings. "Good."

"Well, now that we have that settled." She laughed softly and kissed his ear. Not that it had really been a question. "I could almost sleep now, maybe. I think."

"You can try," he said. "I'm not going to sing or tell you a story, though."

[weetuskenraider]

"Aw. And I was hoping, too," she teased. "I guess I'll have to live without it."

[momslilassassin]

Ben leaned close to her ear. "Dance, dance little Ewok," he sang.

Tahiri burst out laughing, and that bled off whatever was left of her tension from earlier. "Ben, I think that might be worse than not getting a story."

Ben looked terribly hurt. Really. Ignore the smirk. "But it's my favorite song."

It wasn't.

"Uh huh." Tahiri didn't believe him for a second. "You know, I don't mind quiet with you."

[momslilassassin]

"Is that a way of saying I'll never make it as a professional singer?" he asked, closing his eyes and snuggling into his pillow.

"Yes," Tahiri said lightly and shifted a bit, trying to figure out how exactly to stay close to him and keep her arm from going to sleep at the same time. "But mostly I'm saying that we don't have to be talking for me to have fun spending time with you."

Ben smiled. "Good. I don't talk in my sleep."

"How much do you sleep?" Tahiri countered as she settled into what seemed like a workable position with her arm around him.

[momslilassassin]

"More than I used to," he hedged.

[weetuskenraider]

"So long naps, then." She didn't sound disapproving, at least. "At least you're relaxing right now."

[momslilassassin]

"Exactly," Ben said. "And I meditate. Sometimes."

[weetuskenraider]

"Is it getting easier to close your eyes?" Tahiri asked softly; she knew what that was like, too.

[momslilassassin]

"Some days are better than others," he replied.

[weetuskenraider]

"I know the feeling," she murmured, reaching out to stroke his arm lightly. "We say that a lot, don't we?"
