Room 204 [morning]

Ben had gone to bed an almost-sixteen year old guy pushing six feet tall.

He woke up four years old and, well, really short.

He blinked bright blue eyes as he assessed the situation, realized the nanny droid was nowhere to be seen and flashed a little smile.

He was soon out of bed and working on dismantling a droid that teenaged Ben had been putting together for months.

"Horsies are better," Ben decided solemnly. "Oooooh! Or Ewoks."

"What's a Ewok?" she asked curiously.

"It's an Ewok," Ben said, not clarifying much. "It's about as tall as me and furry and promises not to eat Daddy any more."

"They eat fathers?" Aravis asked, horrified.

"Lotsa things try to eat Daddy," Ben confided softly. "But he's the best Jedi ever and it never works."

"That's scary," Aravis said, also quietly. "My father never gets eaten by anything. But sometimes he goes hunting and I'm afraid a arrow might get him."

Ben reached out for her hand. "Is he a soldier too?"

"He's a lord," Aravis said seriously. "He used t'be one, though. My brother's gonna be a soldier when he's big. I can't. I'm a lady."

"Jaina's a soldier and she's a girl," Ben said, frowning.

"I'm not 'lowed," Aravis said sadly.

"That's dumb," Ben declared.

"I know. I have t'wear dresses an' ride horses like a lady, too," she added unhappily.

"How's that different than riding like a boy?" Ben asked.

"Gotta ride with legs on one side," she informed him importantly. "S'harder."

Ben thought about the logistics of that for a minute. "Don't you fall off?"

"Hafta be balancey," Aravis assured him. "Ladies have t'have poises."

"Kind of flower?" Ben asked.

Aravis shook her head. "S'gracefulness and having pretty dresses an' stuff."

Ben frowned. "Mommy's graceful without dresses."

Aravis also frowned. "Mother says ladies have to wear dresses. I want to wear trousers like Rishti and she won't let me."

"That's silly," was the enlightened four-year-old's reply.
