Ben's shuttle [evening]

Ben, who after two years on the island was used to the waves of emotion that happened towards the end of term, had been planning on taking a quick break to clear his head anyway, but the unmistakable feeling of death had hit him twice in two days had added exponentially to his need to go now.

And so, after leaving a slightly garbled message for Tahiri, he'd bolted for the shuttle without a thought in his head other than fleeing the pain for a little bit.

It was weeks like this when it sucked to be an empath.

And that was just too long, wasn't it?

Tahiri was happy to slump back against the wall and pull him with her . . . and make up for those few seconds with one hell of a kiss.

Contact was good. Contact was very good. Ben made a happy little noise and slid his hands along her hips. "Love you."

It seemed like a good thing to babble at a time like this.

Tahiri pulled back just far enough to be able to look into his face and smile. "Love you too."

And then it was back to kissing him, because that had been long enough without as much contact as possible.

Well. Through clothing, anyway, and she seemed to be running her hands up his chest in an attempt to rectify that.

Ben yanked his shirt over his head in series of jerky pulls. "Better?" he asked when he'd finally gotten the blasted thing off.

Tahiri leaned in to nuzzle at his chest. "Uh huh," she said a little breathlessly.

Ben moaned and leaned into her. "I've missed you."

Stop babbling, Ben.

"I'm right here," Tahiri reassured him inanely. "But I missed you too."

Still nuzzling her way down his chest, yes.

His hands slid into her hair. "Weren't we supposed to be going some place?"

[weetuskenraider]

"Um." It was hard to think and trace around his navel with her tongue at the same time, especially thinking about the general vicinity of his navel. "The bunks?"

But that would involve moving . . .

[momslilassassin]

"Ngrgle," Ben said coherently, hoping his knees didn't buckle as she did that.

[weetuskenraider]

"Is that a yes?" asked Tahiri, innocently -- or as innocently as she could under the circumstances while trailing her nails lightly along his ribs.

Good luck with those knees not buckling.

Ben stepped back to sag against the other wall of the hallway. "What was the question?"

[weetuskenraider]

"Heading for the bunks," Tahiri replied . . . which wasn't phrasing it as a question, no. "Unless you want to stay right here."

[momslilassassin]

"Bunks are good," he gasped. "Race you there?"

That was giving his knees a whole lot more credit than they deserved right now.

The proper response was not to turn this into a competition.

Naturally, Tahiri grinned at him. "You're on. Ready? Go!"

Her legs weren't exactly working at optimum levels right now either, though, and she was a little wobbly when she started running.

He stumbled a bit as he began, coming within centimeters of crashing into a wall, but he raced for the sleeping quarters, reaching out to tickle her as they got closer.

Tahiri wobbled right into perfect tickling range and yelped with laughter, reaching up to throw her arms around his neck as they got closer to the bunks.

"You didn't say that was part of the race!"

"It wouldn't have been as effective if I had," Ben said smugly, leaning in to kiss her neck.

[weetuskenraider]

"Sneak," Tahiri mock-complained, tugging at him slightly to topple them onto the bunk. "But a successful one."

[momslilassassin]

"I'm very sneaky," he declared, sneakily trying to get her top off.

[weetuskenraider]

Not so sneakily that Tahiri couldn't tell, but that worked to his advantage anyway since she'd just be helping him with that now.

"Oh, yeah. I didn't even see you coming," she teased, thoroughly unaware of any innuendo.

"That's because you don't see a Jedi if he doesn't want you to see him," Ben said between kisses.

[weetuskenraider]

"But what if he's an especially good-looking Jedi I want to see?" Tahiri managed to say, shrugging out of her sleeves.

[momslilassassin]

"Do I know him?" Ben asked.

[weetuskenraider]

"Fairly well," Tahiri answered, and she was not thinking about getting more than his shirt off him, really she wasn't, that wasn't why she was blushing again. Really.
