Ben was grabbing a quick snack as he waited in the galley for his father to finish docking the ship on the first human-majority planet they'd seen in months and taking the chance to catch up on more reading about the Aing-Tii Monks. As soon as they restocked their supplies and checked for physical mail (Ben hoped that Tony's package would catch up with them here), they'd be heading into Aing-Tii space, which was a challenging enough flight that Luke Kriffing Skywalker looked slightly apprehensive about it.

Ben stopped being nervous by remembering that if Jacen had been able to do it, Luke would be able to do it better.

...it had never been said that Ben could not be very petty if the occasion called for it.

"I'm not pelting you with sentient creatures," Ender said, coming up with his dress uniform jacket on his next poke-around. He held it up. "Well, I won't be needing this for a while."

"Probably not," Ben agreed with a smile. "I don't think we'll be attending a lot of dances."

"Or chauvenistic military events," Ender said, "Though I don't think Tony found my box of insignias. I'm terribly sad." He looked at the jacket one more time. "I can't keep myself from wondering who thought the half-length jacket was a good idea."

"Someone blind?" Ben suggested helpfully. "It's not that terrible, relatively. Twi'lek dress uniforms involve loincloths and capes."

"Yes, I think we definitely dodged a bullet there," Ender said, folding up the jacket.

"No one needs Graff in a loincloth," Ben agreed. "Or Dink, for that matter."

"And I thought briefs were just too little," Ender deadpanned. "I'll stick to our dress code."

Oh, great. Now he felt stupidly reckless.

"If you want a pair of lightsaber boxers, all you have to do is ask," Ben said as the subtext flew over his head.

Ah, right, that's why Ender didn't get too alarmed when stuff like that slipped out. "I'll leave those to you," Ender said, "As well as the X-wing ones."

"Did those get sent?" Ben asked eagerly.

Because obviously Ender wanted to dig around in the box looking for Ben's underwear.

There was a brief pause.

"... I haven't really checked the box for your underwear, Ben."

"Well that was inconsiderate of you," Ben teased, turning to grin at Ender.

"You can dig up your own damned boxers," he decided, fishing out a pair of IF-issued blue worker pants. "Provided you remember what they look like."

"They have X-Wings on them," Ben replied. "They shouldn't be too tough to find amid all of your regulation everything."

They lived together! Naturally Ben knew what Ender's underthings looked like. It wasn't like he spent time looking at them or anything. Really.

"Then be my guest and find them," Ender said. Whilst choosing not to go down the path of wondering whether Ben looked at his underthings.

At least he chose it consciously.

"Do I have to fold all of your clothing as carefully as you were?" he teased, standing up to come over to the box.

"You're allowed an extra millimeter of wiggle room," Ender replied, "Don't abuse it."

"I'll do my best," Ben said, reaching out to tousle Ender's hair. "Nice haircut, by the way. I'd been forgetting what color your eyes were."

"A fair comment, coming from the original sheepdog," Ender said, shooting him a look. "But I should be able to tackle another few weeks of imprisonment somewhere this way."

"And I bought you some barrettes, just in case," Ben added, handing Ender another shirt.

Which Ender folded absently. "As long as they're shiny."

"Of course," Ben replied, folding a pair of sweatpants. "They'll match your navy blue sweater."

"Ben Skywalker, fashion designer."

"It's one of my many talents," Ben said with a laugh.

"I can tell," Ender said, reaching over and fishing out... another black t-shirt.
