Aboard the Falcon [Wednesday afternoon, Fandom time]

The quarters were a little more cramped on the Falcon than they were on the Shadow, and the addition of two more people and a nexu cub was helping Ben feel a little caged in.

It wasn't helping that Luke hadn't called yet to let him know where to rendezvous to continue on with their mission. His father wasn't dead--Ben would have felt that--so Ben was trying to wait patiently for his comlink to go off, rather than calling and demanding to know what was going on.

After a few hours of staring at the comm and mentally demanding it to ring, Luke finally called in. The Sith had left the planet having captured most of the Nightsisters of Dathomir, but Luke had Vestara as his prisoner aboard the Shadow and was using her as collateral in his new pact with the Sith.

Ben's yelped "WHAT?!" at that news had echoed through the ship.

Luke's second bit of news--that the Sith claimed their young people were going through the same Force psychosis that had plagued the Jedi--was harder for Ben to believe, and the final piece--that Luke would prefer Ben head to Coruscant to warn the Council personally about the Sith rather than meet up with his father to head back into the Maw--was greeted with absolute silence, then a nod of acquiescence.

Ben was being left behind again. He was fine with that. Really. He curled up on his bunk after he wished Luke luck on his mission and stared at the wall.

See? Totally fine.

"Maybe, but they're not occurring to me right now," Ender said, pushing up onto his feet and turning towards the bunk for absolutely no reason at all.

His eyebrows drew together. "What's wrong?"

"Beyond my elbow in your face?" Ender asked, letting amusement lace his words.

He pulled himself up into his own bunk.

"Beyond that," Ben agreed, glancing up at him.

"Nothing," Ender said, flopping down on the bunk. It was... uncomfortable in a couple of ways, but he'd take it. "I'd just rather not break more of this crate."

Ben snickered. "Trust me, there is no way that you could mess up the Falcon that hasn't already been done."

"Just because Skywalkers do it doesn't mean I should, small fry," Ender said.

"Oh, messing with the Falcon is entirely a Solo thing," Ben said, still wondering why Ender had gotten so weird all of the sudden.

"Duly noted," Ender said, rolling onto his back in his bunk because it was vastly less uncomfortable.

"Do you want to invite other people to Naboo, too?" Ben asked after a slightly awkward pause. "I think Tony would kill to meet a Gungan."

Ben was kind of mean.

"It wouldn't hurt," Ender said, staring up at the ceiling. "I'm pretty sure Karla can use a break that doesn't end in calamity, too."

"Her vacation to Fandom was the week everyone turned into a tail-having alien," Ben said, sounding sympathetic.

"I heard about that," Ender replied. "So we'll dub the place in Naboo the Resting Home for Wayward Trouble-Seekers for a few days."

"Seems like a long name for a hotel," Ben teased.

"We'll call it an Earth tradition," Ender replied.

"It's not even a good acronym," Ben decided.

"If you can come up with a better one, I'm all ears."

"The last organization I worked for with an acronym went by GAG unironically," Ben said. "Maybe Tony'd be better at it."

"Dangerous words," Ender said, curling his arms behind his head. "Maybe we should ask your uncle. He looks like the creative type."

Ben wasn't taking a moment to admire Ender's arms, shut up.

"Uncle Han is extremely creative," Ben said, "but I'm not sure we want to know what he'd come up with."

Thinking about severely unappetizing things - definitely working.

"Why not? It might be interesting." Ender shot him an amused look.

"That's exactly what I'm worried about," Ben said with a laugh.

"GAG," Ender reminded him. "You've already put yourself out of this one."

[momslilassassin]

"He spent several months flying around in a ship called the Loooooooove Commander, you know," Ben added.

He neglected to mention that it had been Lando's ship.

"At least that got people laughing," Ender said, peering at Ben over the edge of his bunk. "What is your problem with my naming strategies anyway?"

Beyond the fact that half of them were Shakespeare references.
