Aboard the Falcon [Wednesday afternoon, Fandom time]

The quarters were a little more cramped on the Falcon than they were on the Shadow, and the addition of two more people and a nexu cub was helping Ben feel a little caged in.

It wasn't helping that Luke hadn't called yet to let him know where to rendezvous to continue on with their mission. His father wasn't dead--Ben would have felt that--so Ben was trying to wait patiently for his comlink to go off, rather than calling and demanding to know what was going on.

After a few hours of staring at the comm and mentally demanding it to ring, Luke finally called in. The Sith had left the planet having captured most of the Nightsisters of Dathomir, but Luke had Vestara as his prisoner aboard the Shadow and was using her as collateral in his new pact with the Sith.

Ben's yelped "WHAT?!" at that news had echoed through the ship.

Luke's second bit of news--that the Sith claimed their young people were going through the same Force psychosis that had plagued the Jedi--was harder for Ben to believe, and the final piece--that Luke would prefer Ben head to Coruscant to warn the Council personally about the Sith rather than meet up with his father to head back into the Maw--was greeted with absolute silence, then a nod of acquiescence.

Ben was being left behind again. He was fine with that. Really. He curled up on his bunk after he wished Luke luck on his mission and stared at the wall.

See? Totally fine.

Ender had some work ahead of him, he accepted that. He cast a glance into their room, reached up, and rubbed at his hair. Then he stepped on through.

"Ben?"

Ben took a deep breath before rolling over. "Yeah?" he asked quietly.

Ender stopped a step into the door. "Bad news from Luke?"

"Depends on how much you like Coruscant," Ben replied.

"I think I'd prefer Naboo," Ender said, watching him.

"Dad wants me to brief the Council on the Sith," Ben said with another sigh.

"I didn't think he was going to let us back in," Ender admitted. He finally stepped further into the room, and sat down at the edge of Ben's bunk.

And lo, there was a call that didn't involve something horrific happening in Fandom! Maybe.

"Skywalker," Ben replied, picking up his comlink.

"Stark," Tony decided on after a moment. "But I'll let it slide this time. Didn't get eaten by the rancors?"

"Nope," Ben said happily. "You lost the tail?"

"And the fangs! I would figured it out if I hadn't gone crazy and tried to eat Mr. Rogers, though."

There was a long pause. Finally: "...you tried to eat Mr. Rogers?"

It wasn't until she got Tony's message that she decided to call Ben.

This was pretty much exactly what she needed after Panem. "Kiss kiss," she said. Whether that was intelligible through the laughter was a another story.

Ben was boggling at his own message. "Karla? Is Tony drunk? Or...gremlin bit?"

"Drunk," Karla said, still giggling. "Him and Bobby and Warren and Darkness knows who else." She was sooooo not telling Ben what her message had said. Ender would get mad. "I've gotten three messages from them so far tonight. Bobby's eating Tony's...something and Tony wants to draw on Bobby."

And had been sending Ben bisexual porn. And wanted to know if Ender was bendy.

"I just got that one from Bobby!" Ben said. "Weirdos, all of them."

"You're just jealous," Karla declared. "That you're not there to drink with them. And get your face measured in plastic animals."

"I might not have even been invited," Ben demurred.

It was... a while after their previous conversation when the messages started coming in.

A few minutes later, it was followed by Ender's voice, Very Clearly Enunciating so loudly it was audible on the other side of the ship, "Tony? Make sure to drink plenty of water. Don't call me back to ask why."

Some days, he despaired.

Ben stomped into the room, slapping his comlink shut. "I uninvited Tony," he said.

He'd probably take that back in a minute.

"You'll have to repeat that to him when he's sober," Ender said, dryly.

"Maybe I should text it to him," Ben said, frowning at his newest message. "He can't even spell our names correctly."

"I don't want to know," Ender said, sincerely. "I really, really, really don't want to know." He eyed his own phone.

"What did he ask you?"
