Ender's Swingin' Bachelor Pad, Naboo [Wednesday, Fandom time]

The nice thing about how time worked on Naboo was that even a few days away from Fandom meant that Ender and Ben had gotten almost a week to themselves to unwind.

Now the fridge was restocked, the rooms were prepared and the droid Ben had made was bustling industriously around getting rid of dust bunnies.

Ben and Ender were ready for their Fandom (and other universes!) invasion.

"And drinks that are blue!"

Don't let him drink the blue ones, Warren.

Warren would let Ben drink them only on the condition that he could have a few for himself. Did they card in space? Did Warren care?

"And what's in the blue ones?"

... Space things, Warren. Space things.

That stymied Ben for a moment.

"...blue stuff? Oh! And alcohol."

"Good enough for me!"

Warren was, ultimately, easy to please. If people drank it here on a regular basis, he'd probably survive it, after all.

Unless Ben decided to play Angry Birds again.

"So, is there anything I should avoid around here? I'm willing to try pretty much anything once, but, you know, if there's anything that you figure might send me flying for the hills or anything..."

"Avoid anything labeled a Huttese delicacy," Ben advised, "but other than that, Naboo is easy to get around. It's clean and vaguely Italy-esque. Weird, huh?"

"Weird, but still cool," Warren decided. "I've been meaning to visit Italy someday. This is just way cooler."

He had travelled through SPACE, Ben! He was on a different PLANET!! Did you see? Could you tell? Spaaaaace!

"Astral," Ben suggested. "It's spacier sounding."

He was teasing a little but he was genuinely happy to see someone so excited about being here.

"Way spacier sounding." Warren couldn't help but laugh. It was possible that he was still a little giddy.

Space!

... The novelty would wear off someday, maybe. Possibly. Probably not.

"Astral, then. Naboo is astral."

Even their slang was better.

"It's one of the big tourist spots in the galaxy," Ben said. "Come in and look at the view we have of the lakes."

He paused. "Well, Ender has. I just kind of tag along."

"Not too big on lakes?" Warren guessed. "If it helps, I'm not usually much of a tourist, myself. But if the weather keeps up, I might fly around and take it all in all the same. I mean, it's not every day you get to... well. You know."

Go on vacation IN SPAAAACE.

"They're really nice for dangling your feet into, since I'm guessing wet feathers aren't really a fun thing," Ben offered. "And no one's around for kilometers, and even if they see you flying, no one'll care."

He grinned.

"Because you're on a different planet."

Ben, you were making it very difficult for Warren to resist just breaking into a fit of boyish giggles and bouncing on his toes, here.

"I am!" He was! "So you know I'm going to take advantage of that before having to hide my wings again once I head off to Sunnydale. If you don't see me for hours at a time, seriously, just look up."

If people asked nicely, maybe he'd take them up with him!

"We'll wave," Ben said, grinning again. Warren's enthusiasm was infectious. "Want the tour? Karla's been here before, so she knows the important parts: the kitchen, the dock, where the lotions are for sunburn..."

When you had red hair and insisted on getting caught up with your boyfriend while outside, sunburns happened.

"Better start with the kitchen," Warren decided, grinning, "so that I know what room I need to keep her out of, for the good of us all."

"We tried to buy as much food as possible that didn't need anything fussy to happen to it," Ben said, leading the way through a light and airy front room, "since Ender and me aren't exactly chefs either."

And Karla was terrifying when left unsupervised.

"I'm really not one, myself. But I can handle coffee and throw together something simple if I know what in the world I'm looking at," Warren offered, following after and looking around with open-faced approval. "I'm not exactly a gourmet chef, but I can handle a sandwich."

"And I can do salads and stew in a pinch," Ben said, "and can char things over a fire when stranded somewhere."

And that happened fairly frequently when you were Ben.

"This is the kitchen, and yeah, the milk's supposed to be blue."

"If this is the blue drink you were telling me about, I'm going to be really disappointed."

Of course, certain liqueurs were pretty good in milk, too...

Ben laughed. "No, I'm not Ender, who enjoys going out and ordering milk."

Weirdo.

"I guess drinking yourself stupid isn't for everybody," Warren decided, chuckling. "But I feel better now, knowing that you're not going to try to pass off blue space milk as some kind of trendy new drink for nights on the town."

"I'm not that mean," Ben proclaimed. "I'll make sure to get you something properly space-y, like a Twin Suns!"

Which made you see double.

"It even sounds space-y!"

Warren was, if nothing else, a very enthusiastic tourist!

"I think I'm going to have to try that, now."

[And now I flop off to sleep. SP?]

"Yay!" Ben cheered. "We'll have so much fun."

[OOC: SP=LOVE!]

Did Ben have any idea how hard it was for Warren to keep from retorting with, "In space?"

Well, it was. Honest.

"How do the bars compare here to the ones back on Earth, anyhow? We're not going to accidentally end up buying one or wake up with an angry goose in the room the next morning or anything, are we?"

Really, Warren considered those things a hallmark of a good night out.

"Probably not," Ben offered. "Oh, and don't break any of the stuff in the house. Ender gets a little annoyed."

Ben paused thoughtfully. "Which reminds me that I need to buy him another vase. He broke the last one. Repeatedly."
