Ender's Swingin' Bachelor Pad, Naboo [Wednesday, Fandom time]

The nice thing about how time worked on Naboo was that even a few days away from Fandom meant that Ender and Ben had gotten almost a week to themselves to unwind.

Now the fridge was restocked, the rooms were prepared and the droid Ben had made was bustling industriously around getting rid of dust bunnies.

Ben and Ender were ready for their Fandom (and other universes!) invasion.

"Well, you haven't been eating by anything yet," Karla mused. "That's pretty weird."

"It's practically a new record for me," Ben said proudly.

"We should celebrate," Karla decided. "Where's the nearest ice cream-equivalent place?"

"Other than the freezer? In Theed," Ben said. "Ender likes this place because it's pretty far away from everything."

"Well then, we'll have to take a trip out to Theed sometime while we're here. Just you and me." Someone was anticipating the argument they'd be having later and wanted to claim some quality Ben-time for herself. "We can bring nommi and add that to our amazing sundaes."

"Definitely," Ben agreed, smiling. He reached in to give her another hug. "I've missed you."

Karla headbutted his shoulder--and then used that as an excuse to bury her face in his chest. "Missed you too," she mumbled. "And don't think for a minute that if you were doing anything other than going with Ender that I wouldn't kidnap you in a second."

"Julian is going to miss you calling him Purple Guy," Karla lied, pretending to smile. "He told me it was his favorite nickname of all."

"Oh, I'll just bet," Ben said with a snort. "Break it to him gently that I already have a boyfriend, okay?"

"I can't believe you're going to leave me to get cried on by him," Karla declared. "It's going to be utterly pathetic, you know."

Somewhere in Glacia, Julian's hands and jaw were clenching and he had no idea why.

"It's your fault for leading him on like that. What else was he supposed to think?"

Ben burst out laughing. "I was giving him no signs at all!"

"Bah! Details!" Karla waved off Ben's pesky 'logical facts.' "It was true love for him and now you swan off with some Ender-come-lately."

Which was exactly 0% true at all.

Now Ben was looking confused. Someone really should pay closer attention to the crap he watched on television.
