Ender's Swingin' Bachelor Pad, Naboo [Wednesday, Fandom time]

The nice thing about how time worked on Naboo was that even a few days away from Fandom meant that Ender and Ben had gotten almost a week to themselves to unwind.

Now the fridge was restocked, the rooms were prepared and the droid Ben had made was bustling industriously around getting rid of dust bunnies.

Ben and Ender were ready for their Fandom (and other universes!) invasion.

"Einstein?"

Yes, Karla knew about relativity without knowing about Einstein. Blame Ender.

"Fortunately, Ben's universe doesn't believe in that nonsense," she said. "Which means you can travel to Saturn for lunch and still be back in time for the last class of the day. Less time than that, if you don't play around, but what's the point of being in a spaceship if you don't play around at least a little?"

"Being in space makes playing around at least a little mandatory," Warren agreed, nodding. "I mean... so many things to see..."

He wanted to see them all. All of the things. But his place wasn't really in space, was it? No.

Alas, Kaeleer. You'd be exciting too if you were in space.

Kaeleer was starting to develop a complex, it was true.

"Are we going to have to build our aerie on Naboo?" Karla teased, wrapping her arms around his neck for a quick kiss. "I hear real estate prices are exorbitant."

"I can afford exorbitant," Warren countered, wrapping his arms around her in turn. And his wings. And maybe, you know, sweeping her into one of those romantic movie-type kisses, because she was his Karla, and they were on vacation.

"But I think I'll wait to see what Glacia has to offer before I go making plans to immigrate to a whole different galaxy."

~~Stupid space.~~

"Well, there's nothing against investing in vacation property, is there?" Karla quipped. Then nipped. His lip.

"Tell me you wouldn't preen about inviting Bobby and Sookie to a backyard barbecue. In space."

"I think Bobby would lose his mind if I were to invite him to a backyard barbecue in space, Karla. And I'm pretty sure Sookie would appreciate it, too."

It was hard to not be impressed. By space.

"I will definitely have to think on it."

Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace.

Karla stopped kissing him, pulling away to give him a look. "You're thinking about space right now, aren't you?"

"... No?"

He totally was.

"Go on," Karla said with a sigh, making shooing motions with her hands. "Go explore and get it out of your system. Darkness knows I won't get a proper kiss out of you until you do."

Warren at least had the grace to look properly chastened for about four or five seconds, before breaking into a grin and stretching his wings.

"Are you sure you don't want to come with me? I wouldn't want to miss anything good just because I don't know where to look, you know."

Karla laughed. "There will be plenty of time to go flying together over the next few days," she promised. "I'm going to go unpack some of the stuff I brought--" that had all been necessary, shut up "--and bother Ben and Ender for awhile. You go scout out a nice picnic location for us or something. Your promises of delicious lunches forever still apply when we're in space, you know."

Delicious space lunches! IN SPACE!

"And I wouldn't dream of disappointing," Warren replied, before stooping forward and stretching his wings in a low bow. Because... Well, hey, she'd decided to stay behind to unpack and visit, and he certainly wouldn't begrudge her that, but he wasn't about to make it easy, either. "I'll meet up with you again later, with a place all picked out."

Okay, that bow was going to get him collared long enough to receive another kiss--one that hopefully made him think twice about his decision to flutter off and explore.

Ahahahaha, okay, no it probably didn't. Space. But Karla could try.

"Sounds like a plan," she said. "I'll see what the boyos have available for food."

"Well... you just let me know what things are, and I'll assemble the picnic food," Warren replied, his lips still pursed a little after that kiss. "That's part of the whole delicious lunches deal, after all."

It was also a part of damage control. Funny, that.

It was like he'd gone into their relationship knowing about her inability to make food edible!

"Sure sure," she said with a low chuckle. "Now fly if you're going to. Otherwise I'll change my mind about letting you go anywhere and tackle you."

Warren chuckled, leaning in for one more kiss, and then stretched his wings out to their full span.

"You tackle me right now, and you'll be coming along for the flight," he informed her. And then with a crouch and a leap, he was circling overhead. "Which can't possibly be that bad, can it?"

"Not at all," Karla said, "but you'd have better luck convincing after I've annoyed Ben and Ender for a little while."

She blew him a kiss and added, "Though I did bring my wings along, so we can fly together on our way to the picnic, instead of you having to carry me."

He could do that on their way back!

Yeah, they were going to end up rolling in that picnic again, weren't they?

Warren wouldn't be complaining if they did, at least!

"Well then keep them ready for when you're done visiting," he laughed, circling around one more time. "I'll see you later!"

And then he was off! Off to explore! Explore this whole different planet!
