His headache had finally cleared up, so Ben was trying to catch up on his robotics work this evening.

Well, that was his story, anyway. It wasn't like he slept more than a few hours a night. The door was closed, though, so the sound didn't carry down the hall.

She might have been just a touch dazed-looking, but she was practically beaming at him. "Doing astral, thanks. You?"

"Much better," he said. "I like having you around."

Which was a long way for him to have come, really.

It was, and her relief was almost palpable. "Good, because I'm comfortable," Tahiri told him with a teasing glint in her eyes. At the moment, and in general with him.

"Then stick around as long as you like," Ben said, meaning it both ways, too.

Tahiri grinned and leaned up to kiss him on the cheek. "Okay."

Ben let out a soft little sigh and closed his eyes. "This is nice."

"Uh huh." Tahiri's fingers trailed up to trace his hairline. "I missed this."

"I wasn't exactly ready for contact for a while," he murmured.

[weetuskenraider]

She moved her hand to about where she remembered one of the fading marks on his chest was. "I know. Been there too, remember?"

"I remember," he said, touching her forehead again. "I'm glad Anakin went to get you."

Tahiri might never hear his name without feeling a slight wistful pang, but -- somewhere along the line it had stopped hurting quite so much. That drew an odd smile, and she curled a little closer against Ben. "I just wish you could've known him."

"Me too," Ben said. He wouldn't wish for his cousin to arrive here at all, and was never going to bring up the droid on Centerpoint Station.

"But," Tahiri said after a moment of chewing her lower lip, "there's no point in dwelling on the past, is there?" She sounded a little regretful when she said it, but managed a smile anyway.

Ben kissed the top of her head. "Not really," he agreed.

"I like being with you," she said shyly. "I wouldn't change that."

[momslilassassin]

"That is very nice to hear," he said with a little blush.

[weetuskenraider]

Tahiri decided it would be fun to see what happened if she leaned in and whispered in his ear. "I like being your Tahiri."

Ben blushed harder and pulled her a lighter closer as his Force-sense filled with decidedly warm feelings. "Good."

"Well, now that we have that settled." She laughed softly and kissed his ear. Not that it had really been a question. "I could almost sleep now, maybe. I think."

"You can try," he said. "I'm not going to sing or tell you a story, though."

[weetuskenraider]

"Aw. And I was hoping, too," she teased. "I guess I'll have to live without it."

Ben leaned close to her ear. "Dance, dance little Ewok," he sang.

Tahiri burst out laughing, and that bled off whatever was left of her tension from earlier. "Ben, I think that might be worse than not getting a story."

Ben looked terribly hurt. Really. Ignore the smirk. "But it's my favorite song."

It wasn't.

"Uh huh." Tahiri didn't believe him for a second. "You know, I don't mind quiet with you."
