Most people didn't view an invasion as a Great Date Night, but Ben and Tahiri weren't exactly most people.

"These don't seem very much like the other gremlins," Ben replied, making a little face when he got sprayed with blood from a poorly executed lightsaber swipe.

[OOC: For the girl.]

"We should have had a bad feeling about this, huh?" Tahiri asked, spitting out some gremlin gunk (ick) and kicking away a small decapitated body. Yes, she had shoes on. It was cold.

"Maybe the Force thinks we wanted a chance to kill these things?" Ben offered.

[weetuskenraider]

"The Force," Tahiri said, making a face and still spitting out gremlin gunk, "obviously didn't do a taste test."

She flung out a hand and shoved a couple of gremlins into a nearby tree with a hard Force push, slashing her lightsaber at a third that had apparently decided her leg looked appetizing. "Hey! I'm not your dinner!"

"Get off," Ben snapped, yanking a gremlin out of the hood of his robe and throwing it hard.

He smiled. "Are you having fun yet?"

Tahiri opened her mouth to say something about how this was why her flightsuit was more practical, but that was cut short when she brought her lightsaber up to bisect that flying gremlin and had to duck half of it.

"If we're going for food afterward, then yes."

They were special children.

"Gremlin goo wasn't enough for you?" Ben teased.

[weetuskenraider]

"Ugh," Tahiri said emphatically. "You know, I didn't think you got hit in the head. Did I miss something?"

"If I say I haven't, are you going to hit me?" Ben asked.

[weetuskenraider]

"Lucky for you," Tahiri replied, Force-yanking a gremlin onto her lightsaber blade, "I already know you're a little bit thermal, so no."

[momslilassassin]

"Only a little thermal?" Ben laughed. "I must be losing my touch. Two behind you."

[weetuskenraider]

"I was being --" Tahiri nodded her thanks at him, pointed off to his side at another gremlin, and backflipped over the oncoming gremlins. "-- nice about it!"

The trailing point of her blade neatly bisected one of the gremlins, and the other got slashed in half the other way once she landed.

"Nice," Ben said, letting out a low whistle as he skewered the gremlin she'd spotted--and two of its friends--with his lightsaber.

He made a little annoyed noise. "I'm going to have to get rid of this robe."

Tahiri grinned at him, a little self-consciously; she wasn't entirely sure where she'd gotten that move from. Or maybe just wasn't thinking about it.

"Good thing you're not too attached to it, then, huh?" Oh, yay. Bad Jedi inside jokes.

Ben burst out laughing. "That was terrible," he informed her (in case she hadn't realized that or something), kicking out his foot toward a gremlin who thought it could sneak up on him.

[weetuskenraider]

"I know," she replied shamelessly, having been perfectly aware of the terribleness the entire time, thank you. "Keep them away from -- yipes!"

Another gremlin had launched itself out of a tree at her, only to go smacking into a rock when she sidestepped it with just enough room to spare that it tore her sleeve going by.

"-- from water. Found that out yesterday."

"What happens?" Ben asked.

[weetuskenraider]

"Oh, you know." Tahiri vented her feelings about her ripped sleeve by kicking the gremlin hard. "It makes them multiply."

[momslilassassin]

"That is very unhelpful," Ben decided, yanking a gremlin away from a mud puddle. "Mud do the same thing?"

By the time they'd figured that out, Tahiri had been too occupied to look out for the answer to the question.

"Well . . . there's water in it, usually. Right?"

[momslilassassin]

"Sure?" Ben said. "It's not like I was really examining what was at the bottom of Coruscant's sewers when I was in them."

He smacked another gremlin into a tree.

[weetuskenraider]

"Can we keep it that way?" Tahiri's next lightsaber slash . . . took off a gremlin's ear. Oops. "I don't want to know what's down there."

[momslilassassin]

"And that was going to be my second suggestion if Naboo didn't work out," Ben said, skewering the poor earless gremlin.

[weetuskenraider]

Tahiri burst out laughing. "The sewers? Boy, you're the biggest romantic in the galaxy, Skywalker."

Said the girl who'd happily agreed on yet another date to go kill things.

"I've heard there's a lovely tapcafe in one of the midlevels," Ben made up. "Astral lum."

[weetuskenraider]

Tahiri snorted mildly. "Uh huh. And you heard this from who, exactly?"
