Most people didn't view an invasion as a Great Date Night, but Ben and Tahiri weren't exactly most people.

"These don't seem very much like the other gremlins," Ben replied, making a little face when he got sprayed with blood from a poorly executed lightsaber swipe.

[OOC: For the girl.]

"Oh, you know." Tahiri vented her feelings about her ripped sleeve by kicking the gremlin hard. "It makes them multiply."

"That is very unhelpful," Ben decided, yanking a gremlin away from a mud puddle. "Mud do the same thing?"

By the time they'd figured that out, Tahiri had been too occupied to look out for the answer to the question.

"Well . . . there's water in it, usually. Right?"

[momslilassassin]

"Sure?" Ben said. "It's not like I was really examining what was at the bottom of Coruscant's sewers when I was in them."

He smacked another gremlin into a tree.

"Can we keep it that way?" Tahiri's next lightsaber slash . . . took off a gremlin's ear. Oops. "I don't want to know what's down there."

[momslilassassin]

"And that was going to be my second suggestion if Naboo didn't work out," Ben said, skewering the poor earless gremlin.

[weetuskenraider]

Tahiri burst out laughing. "The sewers? Boy, you're the biggest romantic in the galaxy, Skywalker."

Said the girl who'd happily agreed on yet another date to go kill things.

[momslilassassin]

"I've heard there's a lovely tapcafe in one of the midlevels," Ben made up. "Astral lum."

[weetuskenraider]

Tahiri snorted mildly. "Uh huh. And you heard this from who, exactly?"

[momslilassassin]

"Guy who knew another guy who talked to a Rodian," Ben said, nodding. "Or maybe it was a Twi'lek..."

[weetuskenraider]

"Aha." With a brief break in oncoming gremlins, Tahiri sidled over and nudged him. "So only the best of sources."

[momslilassassin]

"Oh, of course," Ben said, leaning out to wipe some of the gremlin goo from her cheek.

[weetuskenraider]

"So maybe we should skip Naboo after all," Tahiri suggested lightly, flicking something that might have been imaginary off his sleeve. "Since you're doing such an astral job of selling me on this underlevel tapcafe."

[momslilassassin]

"Well, if that's your choice," Ben said, stepping over something that didn't need to be examined more closely so he could nudge Tahiri's nose against his.

Because the middle of invasion was exactly the right place to do this.

Wasn't it? Perfect time. Really.

"I didn't say it was. I just haven't ruled it out y --" Tahiri blinked and hugged him, purely in the interest of making sure they were both equally covered in gremlin goo. It was all about being fair here!

"Hi."

[momslilassassin]

"Hey!" Ben said, laughing. "Now I'm all goopy."

Because he hadn't been before. Really.

[weetuskenraider]

Well, now they were goopy in more ways than one.

"You'll live," Tahiri told him, then paused. "Above us, in that tree. Just one."

She sounded a little annoyed. That gremlin had really bad timing.

[momslilassassin]

"That gremlins has really bad timing," Ben complained, agreeing with her narrative. He reached into the Fore to yank the gremlin out of the tree.

Funny, Tahiri had been thinking that, too. Imagine that.

She gave Ben a quick nod and let go of him, bringing her lightsaber up in the gremlin's path and igniting it.

"It couldn't have waited two minutes?"

Or hours. You know.

"Seriously," Ben agreed, reaching for her free hand after the gremlin was dispatched to pull her in for a quick kiss.

Because romance and Skywalkers were not exactly compatible things.

Look, if it wasn't happening in the middle of a fight, it was probably not going to be all that romantic for Tahiri any more. That might be sad, but this was how her life went.

So . . . did it have to be a quick kiss? Because she was going to try and prolong it for a while, until the next gremlin came along.

Ben had to problem turning this into a less than quick kiss. The Jedi danger sense would tell them to turn their attention to other things, right?

[weetuskenraider]

Oh, absolutely. It wasn't as if they ever got into a mutual cycle of sensory feedback or anything like that, after all.

So they'd totally notice the pair of gremlins coming up on them from Tahiri's left. No problem at all.

Sure they would! Eventually.

Ben was a little more interested in nipping at her ear right now, but he was a highly trained killer and getting jumped while making out in the woods would just be embarrassing.

Right, Ben?

Right. Absolutely.

A pair of Jedi with the amount of experience they'd both had already wouldn't let anything like short, mean, evil gremlins get the jump on them, ever.

Even if Tahiri was making a tiny squeaking noise and hooking her lightsaber back onto her belt so she could wrap her arms around Ben instead.
