Ender's Swingin' Bachelor Pad, Naboo [Wednesday, Fandom time]

The nice thing about how time worked on Naboo was that even a few days away from Fandom meant that Ender and Ben had gotten almost a week to themselves to unwind.

Now the fridge was restocked, the rooms were prepared and the droid Ben had made was bustling industriously around getting rid of dust bunnies.

Ben and Ender were ready for their Fandom (and other universes!) invasion.

Ender brought his hand down to grip Ben's hand as he did so. "Having Karla and Warren here has been interesting."

Ben laughed and rested his head against Ender's shoulder, staring out at the lake. "I wonder if Warren will stop thinking 'spaaaaaaaaaaace' before he goes home?"

"Probably not," Ender laughed softly. "I think you and I are rather more used to that concept than most of our friend."

Which was fine with him. It was one of those ways he and Ben seemed to fit into the same world.

"That's because we're jaded and old," Ben declared, reaching down to squeeze Ender's knee. "What'd you do last night?"

"I had some milk, checked my email, and hung out by the water," Ender said wryly. "I think Karla stomped."

"She might have been acting out being a rancor," Ben said dryly.

"I don't think she gnawed on anything of yours, if you're worried," Ender said.

"She might have gnawed on an action figure of me instead," Ben replied. "She bought a couple."

Ender laughed softly. "We shouldn't have unleashed her on Theed."

"Probably not," Ben said, kicking the water idly with his feet. "The city will never be the same."

"Come to think, it was probably not a good idea for me to encourage Warren to unleash himself on the countryside, either," Ender said, throwing him a wry smile.

Ben grinned back. "In spaaaaaaaaaaace."

"Please tell me he didn't use those exact words."

"Mostly in his head," Ben said. "It's cute."

"Mmm," Ender said, kicking some water his way. "Do I need to be worried?"

Ben nudged his shoulder into Ender's. "Not ever," he said, smiling.

"Good," Ender said, "Because I think growing wings is a little out of even my range of abilities.

Ben slid his hand down Ender's back, kneading muscles as he went. "I like you the way you are."

Ender sighed softly, enjoying the motions. "I think that's the foundation of a decent relationship."

Ben moved behind Ender so he could continue with a better massage. He kissed Ender's shoulder. "Mmm, warm," he murmured.

"Mmm in general," Ender said. "That feels nice..."

Dammit, Ben. "Did you have fun last night?"

"I did," Ben said. "Neither of us exploded!"

That might require context, Ben.

"Um, there's a drink that can go a little weird if it's not poured exactly right."

Ender raised an eyebrow. "And you thought you'd try it?"

"Sure," said Ben, absolute moron. Because if you can't trust the bartender at a strip club, who can you trust? "Dad drinks them sometimes."

"I'm having a hard time picturing your dad drinking alcohol," Ender admitted.

But then he never did get the appeal of it.
