Sorelledolce [let's call it Sunday]

Ben was starting to feel at home on Sorelledolce: he had a routine for getting produce for the week at the same store, where the older man behind the counter insisted on spoiling the baby with strawberries, plums or apples, depending on what he had available when they arrived. He'd then get bread at another shop (and a roll for Val to gnaw on), and then a coffee for himself (and an espresso cup full of whipped cream that Val smeared all over her face, to her great delight) before heading back to the ship.

He kept up his normal one-sided conversation with his daughter as they walked. "That's a puppy, Val," Ben explained. "And that's a chicken! And that's a lady who's glaring at us for no real reason but we're going to walk faster anyway..."

Just another Sunday morning. Ben kind of loved his quiet little life.

"Want my fingers instead?" Ben whispered. "Mouth?"

Ender kissed him gently. "No."

Ben's mouth quirked up in a little smile. "Yeah?"

Ender pulled his hand back, but only so he could run his thumb over Ben's smile for a moment. "Yeah."

"I love you," Ben said, running his tongue over the pad of Ender's thumb, then sucking it into his mouth.

Ender watched his finger disappear between those lips, and then his eyes slid closed of their own accord.

"Love you," he whispered, very soft.

Ben slowly ran his tongue around Ender's thumb, then rocked his hips into Ender again.

Ender let out a loud gasp, his free hand digging into Ben's... that felt like Ben's hip. Kuso.

Ben bit down gently on Ender's thumb, then released it, watching Ender's face carefully for any sign that this wasn't fun any more.

Ender wasn't sure of much anymore, and would have professed as such if Ben had asked him. He was getting tired, he knew that, but he was also getting wound up again.

Maybe one more time. He might have that in him, if they were lucky.

"Hey," he said, brushing his newly wet thumb - and the rest of his fingers - along Ben's cheek.

Ben smiled down at him again. "Okay."

Ender smiled back at him; it was almost lazy. "What do you want to do?" he asked.

"I don't know," Ben admitted, kissing him again. "I was just exploring...feeling how our nerves were fritzing..."

Ender laughed softly. "Perils of dating an empath," he said, cupping Ben's cheek. "You seemed like you had a plan."

"Nope, making it up as I went," he said. "Banging you like a door in a sandstorm isn't really a plan."

"You're a regular poet," Ender teased.

Ben kissed him again. "You love me anyway."

"Against all sense," Ender said, "Which also describes how I feel right now." He kissed Ben back firmly.

Ben laughed softly and ran his fingers along Ender's sides, trying to spark the nerves up again.

Ender wasn't quite as oversensitized as he'd been at the beginning, so Ben got the normal amount of gentle shivers. Ender himself ran his hands back down Ben's back, cupping his butt.

Ben sighed happily, licking along some of the bruises he'd left behind.

Ender sighed, sliding his hand around to touch a different important part of Ben's anatomy.

Ben moaned. "Hi there."

"We'll need another bath," Ender murmured, "If we manage to make it out of the bed tonight."

"And new sheets," Ben added, kissing him again.
