Ben still was exactly sure where he and Ender had ended up but the food was good, the view from their room was fantastic, and nothing had tried to eat them.

He was calling it a win.

He leaned against the balcony railings and ate a piece of fruit (weirdly blue, but other than that very tasty) and watched some kind of birds float serenely on a lake in the near distance.

"Not a bad way to spend time, huh?" he asked.

"What did you have in mind?" Ben asked with elaborate innocence, wrapping his arms around Ender's waist.

"I was thinking I might want to see that lake over there," Ender mused.

"Think we should chance the very vicious looking duck things?" Ben asked.

They looked like ducks.

"Afraid of getting wounded?"

"Terrified," Ben replied, tilting his head to kiss the tiny scar on the back of Ender's neck.

Ender smiled a little. "Want to go inside and get your mind off this instead?"

"As opposed to staying out here and giving someone a show?" Ben wondered.

"I'm not really much of an exhibitionist," Ender admitted. "So that's probably a good idea."

"I'm absolutely shocked to hear that," Ben teased, tugging Ender by the hand and into their room.

Ender shut the door behind them with the one hand he still had to his name right now. He followed Ben the rest of the way into the room. "We could still order room service instead," he joked dryly.

"We could do both," Ben offered before leaning in to kiss him. "I know you have a weakness for pizza..."

Not even close, Ben.

Ender reached up and cupped the back of Ben's head as he kissed back. "I think you're confusing me for yourself."

"No," Ben said. "I had a weakness for you in a uniform."

His hands slid around Ender's waist and up under the shirt.

Ender gave him a little push towards the bed.

A very little one. It'd be a tragedy if Ben had to move his hands. "I think I noticed that."

Ben was happy enough to follow that direction, pulling Ender with him. "I wasn't that subtle about it," he admitted.

"I didn't bring my uniform, if you were wondering--"

Which was all he got out before he was flopping forward onto the bed.

"--but I did bring the sweater."

He'd noticed that too. Ben.

Ben's eyes lit up. "Really?"

Not that it would stay on long.

"Subtle as a brick, kreetle," Ender said fondly, and kissed him again.

Ben nuzzled his neck. "I thought we were a bit beyond playing hard to get."

"I don't know about that," Ender murmured. "Your shirt still seems to be on."

"I thought implementing a standing 'no clothing while in our room' rule might make it awkward for movie nights with Karla," Ben replied, voice muffled as he pulled his shirt off over his head.

Ender pulled off his own shirt at roughly the same time, so he had too much shirt in his face to properly respond until he'd tossed it at the closet. "No, but offering sexual favors while clothed seems like a little 'mixed signals' to me."

"Or maybe just adding to the challenge," Ben said before leaning in to kiss along Ender's collarbone.

"That's another way of looking at it," Ender said, sighing.

He slid his hands along Ben's sides, since they were there and available.

Ben moved so that he was straddling Ender's legs and gave him a little push so he'd topple further back. How else would he be able to properly devote himself to kissing Ender's chest, really?
