Ben was still smiling as they walked away from the Portalocity terminal, his hand in Ender's. "That was a nice visit," he said. "Dad's really, really excited about becoming a grandfather, huh? I think the Ewok-themed nursery might be a bit much, though."

Ben smiled softly. "Jammed into your twin bed or mine, trying not to touch."

"Might be why we get a little greedy about it now," Ender said quietly. He took a deep breath. "But those nights meant a lot to me at the time, even if I didn't want them to."

"Me too," Ben whispered, kissing his cheek. "The physical stuff's gravy. I love--did then, too--the person inside."

Ender smiled again, and leaned in to kiss him properly. "We don't talk about our past before Fandom as much as we used to," he said. "I think that's a good thing."

"The future's much more interesting," Ben said, sliding his fingers through Ender's hair and kissing him back.

"It's a good future," Ender said softly. "At least that's how it looks from here."

"I have a good feeling about it," Ben agreed, kissing him again.

"Me too," Ender said softly.

Ben beamed at him. "Yeah?"

"Better than I've ever had," Ender said.

"Best thing I've heard all day," Ben declared.

Ender laughed. "Better than me showing up to weld tomorrow wearing the blue sweater?"

"That's going to be the best thing I'll see tomorrow," Ben said, grinning back.

"Now pay attention to the movie," Ender murmured. "There's not that much of it left, and they're finally digging into the mathematics."

Ben rested against Ender and watched the movie, memorizing the mathematics.

Ender wrapped his arms more tightly around Ben, more than happy to stay that way for some time. He already knew a fair bit of what was in the documentary, but it was educational... and Ben was a nice, comfortable presence in his arms.

Ben radiated contentment as he sat there, comfortable and loved and watched until the end, deeply interested in the subject matter.

Ender kissed the back of his neck when the credits rolled. "Useful?"

"Very," Ben said. "It cleared up a few things I'd had questions on regarding how propulsion worked here."

"Very different from your universe," Ender agreed.

Ben stayed leaned into Ender because it was so comfortable. "I don't want to risk mixing those techs at all," he said. "Not until I'm sure I won't blow us up. Another couple centuries, maybe."

Ender smiled. "No one's going to keep you from adding or changing something about the ship," he said. "Kriff, we might need more bedrooms later."

Ben laughed. "Let's wait until we have the first one," he teased, kissing Ender's cheek.

"If I wasn't waiting, I'd have told you to build some right now," Ender teased back.

"Brat," Ben murmured fondly.
