Ben didn't have classes on Tuesday, so he'd spent the entire day going through the forensic evidence of his mother's crime scene on his datapad, so focused on the task in front of him that he forgot his normal Tuesday routine.

The photos...were grim.

Which was why the door was very firmly shut.

"So what's going on that she felt the need to count your limbs anyway?"

"Dad called me home for a rescue attempt," Ben replied casually.

Ben's family was weird.

"Because they don't have people to do that already?" Dean asked.

"Not ones that are good at getting on and off of Jacen's ship with all of their limbs attached," Ben said.

"He sent you up against Jacen?" Dean asked, voice rising a little in disbelief.

"He led the mission," Ben said. "Two Masters and two Jedi. Oh, and Uncle Han, too. Dad, Master Sabatyne--the one who yelled at Jacen after delivering the eulogy?--and me, we were just the distraction. Aunt Leia was going after a little girl Jacen had kidnapped."

Okay, family affair. Dean could understand that. Especially since Jacen was a home grown loony. "Everyone come out okay?" he asked.

Ben smiled and nodded. "We even saved the princess, which is another family tradition."
