Sorelledolce [let's call it Sunday]

Ben was starting to feel at home on Sorelledolce: he had a routine for getting produce for the week at the same store, where the older man behind the counter insisted on spoiling the baby with strawberries, plums or apples, depending on what he had available when they arrived. He'd then get bread at another shop (and a roll for Val to gnaw on), and then a coffee for himself (and an espresso cup full of whipped cream that Val smeared all over her face, to her great delight) before heading back to the ship.

He kept up his normal one-sided conversation with his daughter as they walked. "That's a puppy, Val," Ben explained. "And that's a chicken! And that's a lady who's glaring at us for no real reason but we're going to walk faster anyway..."

Just another Sunday morning. Ben kind of loved his quiet little life.

"Love you," Ben said, snuggling Ender closer.

"Love you," Ender echoed, smiling softly. "So much."

"I'd say we should do that more, but I'm not sure we'd survive it," Ben chuckled.

Ender sighed, and made another little noise. "Mebbe in a few minutes," he mumbled finally.

Ben kissed his forehead. "Love you more for that."

Ender slid his hands down to settle over Ben's. "'s nice," he said.

"Very," Ben murmured, closing his eyes and reveling in the feelings.

Ender sighed. He didn't speak again until a few minutes later. "I really wouldn't mind doing that again," he murmured.

Ben opened his eyes up again. "Yeah?" he said softly.

"I like feeling you let go of your inhibitions," Ender admitted quietly.

Ben bit his lower lip. "Yeah?"

"Yeah," Ender murmured. He brought up Ben's hand and kissed his knuckles. "And I'm going to be feeling this in my bones for days. I like that, too."

Ben snuggled in against him. "I love seeing this side of you, too."

Ender smiled. "Happy to let you do whatever you want?" he teased.

"It happens so rarely," Ben teased back.

"Justifiably so." Ender turned over so he was facing Ben, wrapping his own arms around him and kissing him firmly.

Ben wrapped his fingers through Ender's hair and kissed him back just as enthusiastically.

Ender finally came up for breath after a few moments, and pressed his forehead against Ben's. "I love you," he said, "And I'm not above trying to find out if we can do this like we're twenty again."

Ben's face lit up. "Yeah?" he said, sucking on Ender's lower lip. "I could get on board with that."

Ender sighed. "I need to clean you up, for instance..."

"I'm open for all kinds of suggestions for that," Ben offered.

Ender laughed softly. "I did promise you fellatio," he teased.

Ben shivered. "You did," he agreed, kissing him again. "And you are very, very good at it."

Ender nipped at his bottom lip. "I try," he said, and kissed Ben's throat, next.

Ben let out a low moan. "You succeed."
