Sorelledolce [let's call it Sunday]

Ben was starting to feel at home on Sorelledolce: he had a routine for getting produce for the week at the same store, where the older man behind the counter insisted on spoiling the baby with strawberries, plums or apples, depending on what he had available when they arrived. He'd then get bread at another shop (and a roll for Val to gnaw on), and then a coffee for himself (and an espresso cup full of whipped cream that Val smeared all over her face, to her great delight) before heading back to the ship.

He kept up his normal one-sided conversation with his daughter as they walked. "That's a puppy, Val," Ben explained. "And that's a chicken! And that's a lady who's glaring at us for no real reason but we're going to walk faster anyway..."

Just another Sunday morning. Ben kind of loved his quiet little life.

Good.

"I'm going to take you out of this bath in a little while," Ender said softly, resuming the movements of his hand. "And I'm going to make sure you're relaxed and knocked out all night."

"And that's one of the many reasons I'm spending my life with you," Ben said. "You've got me."

"And you've got me," Ender echoed. "We're both gotten."

He kissed Ben's cheek.

Ben smiled softly. "I can take care of you too, y'know."

"When we get out of the tub," Ender said. "There's no rush."

"Since we've been in the tub, I can do that thing you like with the tongue..." Ben offered, sounding a little out of it.

Ben's hand was effective.

Ender smiled. "It's a date," he said. "When I'm done watching you."

He didn't speed up his hand; his goal was to get Ben all worked up, not finish him off.

And sometimes slow was nice.

Ben shivered. "You like that part?"

"I always like watching you," Ender said softly.

Ben shivered harder. "Tell me what you see."

"A beautiful boy," Ender said, "who pours all his heart into those he cares about." He kissed Ben's shoulder. "And who looks sexy as hell when I finally get him to relax..."

Ben whimpered. "Takes longer and longer these days," he admitted.

"I know," Ender murmured. He nipped gently at Ben's neck. "Still worth it, though."

"Mmmm, always," Ben said, closing his eyes. "Five years ago me is very disappointed in my sex life, though. I don't caaaaaaaaaaaare."

"Five years ago you got all the sex you'll ever need," Ender teased. He dragged his hand up again, making sure to linger. "But we'll just have to make up for it in quality."

"Just like the time with you," Ben gasped, rocking up into Ender's hand. "Kriff, you know me so well..."

Ender kissed the back of his neck. And again, and again.

"I love you," he whispered. "I love you enough that I'm going to stop from finishing this job, so you can do that thing with your mouth, and we'll get as close as two people can get with you close and in me..."

Ben moaned. "Kriff, yes, that, please," he said, hoping his knees would hold him up as he moved to get out of the tub.

Going to the hospital for stitches right now would be a show-stopper.

Ender dropped his hand as soon as he started to move, which would hopefully help with that. (He did, however, enjoy the view as Ben got up.) "Careful, love."

"Yeah, yeah," Ben said. "Not repeating the last time, I promise."

He reached for a towel to wrap around himself (which looked rather ridiculous, given what parts were still very interested) and handed one over to Ender.

Ender snagged it on his way out of the tub, but he slung one arm around Ben's waist while he dried himself up, making sure he stayed close. "Good."

Ben appreciated it--his knees were more wobbly than he really wanted to admit to.

"Ass over teakettle wasn't a good look for me," he agreed.

Ender kissed him on the cheek. "Maybe not," he agreed, "But at least you didn't break anything."

He slid his hand down to the bump in Ben's towel.

Ben moaned. "That would've been awful," he agreed.

"Very," Ender said, and couldn't resist kissing him on the mouth first, firmly and full of promise.
